For the optimum visualisation of agarose or polyacrylamide gels, UVItec offers what is probably the widest available range of ultraviolet transilluminators. The ‘mini’ range takes 8W tubes and can have filter sizes up to 21 x 26cm. With the standard sized range, filter sizes up to 20 x 40cm are possible. All models are of superb quality with stainless steel filter frames, longlife filters and highly polished ‘ondulex’ reflectors for ultimate efficiency. An adjustable UV blocking cover is included to protect the user from harmful UV. The range now includes electronic ballast technology as standard with the exception of the dual wavelength and the white light models. This new technology reduces flicker, provides instant switch on and allows dual intensity to be a standard feature.

The BioDoc-It Imaging System enables simple documentation of fluorescent and non-fluorescent gels, membranes, blots, film plates and assays with the ability to save images to a USB storage device for later quantitative analysis or enhancement for publication.
Images are saved in 8-bit TIFF or JPEG formats allowing the images to be read by most PC or MAC programs. The BioDoc-It System is a cost effective solution for archiving quality images in a compact standalone package. No computer is required

Gel-Cutter provides an edge for cutting and removal of gel material in one easy movement. Clear plastic Gel-Ruler provides centimeter markings that fluoresce when exposed to 365nm and 302nm UV wavelengths for DNA analysis. Gel-Scooper, made of strong acrylic with a beveled edge, is designed to transfer gels easily from electrophoresis equipment to viewing equipment. Gel-Trays are made of UV-transmitting Plexiglas* acrylic and can be used for moving gels to the transilluminator. Trays protect transilluminator’s filter surface from scratches. Side panels on the trays are angled at 45° to provide “handles.”
